Slow & small production
We believe passionately in small-scale production crafted with human hands, rather than mass volume and machine made. We value this approach to production for its inherent sustainability, the organic beauty of the finished product and the importance of investing in people.
People
We have personal relationships with each of our artisans. From road trips through mountains to long days in small jungle factories, we visit our craftsmen to make sure that they are operating in positive environments and conditions. We accept the prices set by our suppliers, create payment schedules based on their needs and organise our production schedules to work with their cultural, religious and family commitments.
Heritage & skills
We aim to preserve heritage crafts that have been learnt and refined over centuries through human endeavour. In working with local artisans from remote and inspiring cultures, we give the world access to the uniqueness of these traditions that might otherwise remain unseen and in doing so, provide them with a livelihood that enables them to keep their traditional skills and culture alive for future income and for the benefit of humanity.
Earth
In contrast to the culture of disposability, we design and make pieces to last a lifetime so as not to burden the earth with landfill. We use responsibly-sourced materials to create pieces with as little impact on the local and global environment as possible.
