From summer essentials, sarongs and pareos,
to jewellery and more, BATIQUAL is a label that champions artisan skills with the intention to create things that you will keep forever.
It is the culmination of a love of art and design, a lifetime living amongst time-honoured cultures and craftspeople and a commitment to slow sustainable creation.
BATIQUAL has its roots in the Indonesian archipelago, the home of batik.
“As I have wandered around the world, I have
realised that the things most worth investing in are things that have stories.
Things that remind you of a moment, an experience or a feeling. Things that are made by hand, with the deftness of skills passed down through generations, that speak to history and culture. Things that you know support the lives of people who live simply. Things that are made singly or in small batches, that are inherently unique.
These things have emotional weight. These are the things that we keep.”
